PASCOR's reputation as a reliable maritime company draws many applicants. But these applicants go through a rigid selection process which involves written tests, and additional trade tests for skilled workers. The written tests measure their mental aptitude, psychological standing, and intelligence quotients. IQ test include English Proficiency, Abstract Reasoning, and Numerical and Technical Knowledge. The trade tests as well as computer based test on the other hand, measure their capability in handling the work they are applying for.
Applicants who pass the tests go through a series of interviews for the assessment of their personalities and attitudes. Applicants who prove excellent in the tests are interviewed by the recruitment officer, Port Captain or Port Engr and Operations manager of PASCOR. These series of interviews are a testing ground as to the social and psychological makeup of the applicants. The principal has the option to conduct personal or telephone conversations with the applicants who pass the interviews with PASCOR.
PASCOR seamen undergo a series of vigorous training programs that prepare physically for their life at sea.
PASCOR seamen possess the required SCTW 2010 trainings related to their rank and position.
